Rottle
7 Wonders -- Wonder Pack, Leaders, Cities, Armada,
Great Projects
Notes
Your Armada board will be to
the right (or below, depending on your screen resolution) of your
regular player board, and any islands you have will
be to the right of or below the Armada board. When you play a
card or
build a stage of your wonder, if you have the available resources, I
will automatically have you advance in the appropriate shipping
track. If you can get the resource from one of your neighbors,
you will have to specify that in your orders. Just for clarity
sake, I will be referring to the four shipping lanes as follows:
Red: Military, Yellow: Commercial; Blue: Civic; Green:

Congratulations to Kevin Wilson on his victory!
Chris Geggus (The Great Wall):
Think I can see now why the Great Wall is not over-popular. Thought I
was a bit nearer, but didn't see any obvious route to big points this
time around and never seeing the Guild for black cards was also
annoying. Plus one of the expansions was new to me, so still need to
understand them all better, but good to see we didn't have a Science
runaway this time around. Well played Kevin at long last. And thanks to
Chris H. who seems to know all the games better than me (thank
goodness).
Christopher Hunt (Babylon):
Thanks to Chris for runing the game. He does know the rulls beter then
us. Congratualtions to Kevin on his win. Went
the science route with 90% of my points in science. Short of manoey always needing to sell cards.
Kevin Wilson (Helicarnassus):
I really thought someone must be trying to run away with Science as I
simply wasn’t seeing any. At least those I did see were all the same
icon so 4^2 helped. But with 6 players, I guess they just got
spread around other than Babylon.
Several times, especially Age III I didn’t have a choice but go red. It
was the only cards of any value or that I didn’t already have. Paid off
(this time). I also backed into a card that made all the yellow I
had mean more. But it was all those blue Ephesos had that seemed to be
the most dangerous.
I think I’ve played Halikarnossos before and the play-for-free from the draw pile wasn’t as helpful as it turned out this time.
Finally a win! Still, not so much because of any key strategy but how
the cards fell (yellow and red). While I thought Science to start, I
just wasn’t seeing too many. So I flipped to cash and didn’t get piles
of that either. Finally, military worked. But at least the floundering
around, looking for a path, diversified enough to get VP from a lot of
places.
Thanks to Chris, as always, for running the game. Kudos to the rest for a fun one.
Dave Hooton (Manneken Pis):
Congratulations to Kevin on his win. It's too bad that the Manneken Pis
wonder use wasn't right/left/right instead of left/right/left. In this
case, it would have been much more powerful.
Thanks, Chris, for running it.
Keith Marple (Ephesus):
Fun game, and an excellent win by Kevin. It does seem like a
diversity of point sources is a good path to victory in this game.
I started slow and cash-strapped, and only started rolling with blue
points and money by the second half of Age 2, but by then I was already
digging out of a hole.
Thanks to Chris H. for running a fun, smooth game, and to all for playing.
