skill.
I didn’t think I would win this one, I just had a lot of money and the
cards that allowed me to flip a lake and increase my metals production,
and if I didn’t spend it now I’d lose a bunch of scoring opportunities,
so I spent. It would be more impressive to say I planned this out ahead
of time very carefully but I did not, I just did everything I could to
maximize my points, without even bothering to see what everyone else
had, yes, I was that convinced I was out of the running but I’d done my
best.

engine I tried to make a comeback, but to no avail. A really fun game,
I like the Ares version a lot.

I thought I got off to a pretty good start. Plants and more plants with
a heat follow up. I was building up some steam but ran out of time. Not
so much running out of time but others vaulting ahead, keeping me from
getting all the tokens and heat to work. Once those parameters started
to climb, those climbed quickly! Even the ocean tiles, once they
started flipping went fast too. At least the gap was enough that even
another turn and getting some of those benefits in play would have
helped but not changed the outcome.
Congrats to Bill on a nice win. Thanks to Chris for running the game as
smoothly as always and to the others for a fun play.
